Most of my neighborhood has had fiber except the block on my street, even down the street has it. It just had been fiber to the node at my address (around 25mbps). I did find out that I could get a business line by signing up to pay $30k (split over monthly payments) for 2 years of gigabit fiber. This would just get the fiber to the front of our house. No, the option wasn't available to pay the cost out of pocket. They simply said AT&T was not interested in supplying Fiber to the premises in my neighborhood at the time due to the cost of bringing it into the neighborhood (estimated at $18,000), the lack of green space in the front of our homes, and the property being managed by an HOA instead ....
